I offer a multifaceted approach that combines a developmental and psychodynamic understanding of issues.  I add a psycho-educational component to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of therapy. 

When working with addictions I strongly support the 12-step model and 12-step meeting attendance.  I believe that addiction arises when substance abuse becomes a bio-chemical dependency and that most addictions have a basis in childhood or adult trauma.  My training is with Dr. Patrick Carnes in the Recovery Task model.

In relationship therapy, I use both a practical approach and the Harville Hendrix model (See, Getting the Love You Want, and for those not in relationships, Receiving Love.)
