With a PhD in Addictions and over 18 years of related experience, Lisa joined the Thorpe Recovery Centre in the Fall of 2008 as the Clinical Director.Lisa is responsible for the ongoing evaluation and development of Thorpe Recovery Centre’s residential, detox and transition programs.She is a seasoned Family therapist with extensive experience and skill in: addiction counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, dealing with adolescents and workshop design and delivery.Lisa is dedicated to expanding the current programming and services available specifically the development of an Adolescent program in Thorpe Recovery Centre’s new facility, and combining the treatment of not only addiction but associated psychiatric care.
Lisa has worked with leaders in the field of addiction, and has conducted research with youth, Lisa’s most recent accomplishment being her publication “Addiction Treatment for Youth and It’s Impact on Mental Illness: How Adolescent Treatment for Addiction Impacts the Symptoms of Mental Illness” (2009).
She is looking forward to adding a new venture in September. In addition to her responibilities at the Thorpe Recovery Centre, Lisa will be training as a Certified Sex Adiction Therapist and seeing clients on Fridays at Recovery Path.
